Maxeon Solar Technologies

Maxeon Solar Technologies was created as a spin-off entity from US-based SunPower Corporation. This allowed SunPower to get out of the manufacturing and global markets side of the business and focus exclusively on their US Residential and Commercial markets. Maxeon Solar Technologies ships to over 100 countries with over 1,000 partners and distributors. Through strategic partnerships with a Chinese manufacturer TZS, Maxeon aims to scale up its value-based product line as well as continue to lead in the higher end of the market with its own back contact product line manufactured and assembled in existing facilities in Mexico, Malaysia and the Philippines.

The assignment for the in-house team was to thoughtfully develop this new purpose-driven, Singapore-based brand entity in under a year and in advance of a NASDAQ listing. The following creative assets are a taste of where the creative team landed.

Maxeon Brand Identity: One of the cornerstones of the new brand was the word mark. Some important criteria were used in the development of the finished mark; it had to be a strong departure from an existing product identity, retain some of the original brand characteristics, but most importantly be durable and confident.

Brand Anthem Video.

One of the cornerstone assets in support of the brand launch was this anthem video. We were able to leverage much in the way of existing customer and philanthropic project material with just a little stock footage and deliver a bold, energizing narrative that reveals the new brand Purpose and Values and offers a new vision.

We push the boundaries. We thrive together. We hold ourselves to a higher standard.

For the new Maxeon.com website we were able balance the focus on our leading solar product solutions along with a new company Purpose: Powering Positive Change and a renewed focus on Sustainable Practices and upcoming ESG commitments.

With the launch of an international spin-off company and an entirely new name and brand identity, the list of touch points that need to be thought through and built out, can be seemingly endless. The items above offer a snapshot of some of those items including: employee-facing brand purpose and values posters, presentation templates, stationery and facilities signage design. Scaling a new brand identity across this range of applications is a tremendous test of the team’s design work and something that should be enduring and flexible enough to evolve and grow.
